The Real Estate industry is highly competitive and therefore it is very important to take extra steps to make your services and you as an agent stand above the rest. One of the ways to do this is to continue to take courses and continue to educate myself in the ever changing real estate industry. As such, I have received the ABR designation and have nearly completed the coursework to receive the GRI designation. Both the GRI and ABR designation require an intense course load in addition to experience and a monetary investment to receive. See below for what this means for Your Realtor to have these designations.
GRI (Graduate REALTOR Institute)
The Graduate REALTORŪ Institute (GRI) designation indicates to buyers, sellers and other real estate industry professionals that you have made the commitment to provide a high level of professional service to your clients by securing a strong educational foundation.
The GRI designation is obtained by attending a specific, intensive series of a minimum of 90 hours of classroom instruction, covering subjects in contract law, professional standards, sales and marketing, finance and risk reduction. The subject matter has been chosen to educate practitioners about local, state and national real estate practices that affect them and their clients. GRI courses are taught by leading real estate professionals from around the country.
In today's competitive business environment you need more than just motivation and initiative to succeed, you need the advantage of the education you receive in the GRI program.

ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative)
The Real Estate Buyers Agent Council, REBAC, was founded in 1988 to promote superior buyer representation skills and services. An affiliate of THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS since 1996, REBACs membership now numbers well over 40,000 and is the worlds largest organization of real estate professionals concentrating on buyer representation. Members who meet all course and professional experiential requirements are awarded the ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative), which is one of the only designations of its type recognized by NAR (National Association of Realtors.
The ABR designation is geared towards agents who wish to enhance their buyer representation skills, and provides proof to prospective buyer-clients of their proficiency at servicing the special needs of buyers.
